The holidays are here! Well, almost, but I’m the person who starts Christmas shopping by Labor Day. I love everything about the season: the traditions, the movies, the food, the weather, and of course, decorating. If you’re into Christmas crafts, you’ll need some time to create your decor or decide who gets a handmade gift in their stocking, which is why I’ve rounded up some Etsy finds a little early this year. Here are the goodies that will soon be seen around the MetroCozy house.
1. REINDEER SEWING KIT
2. CAMPER CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENT
I usually buy a new ornament for the tree every year. Why haven’t I been making them?! We took a family road trip this year and I’m making this ornament by MaisieMooPatternShop with a little “2018” tag as a reminder. Super cute.
3. WOODLAND CREATURE GARLAND
4. HOME ALONE CROSS STITCH KIT
5. DIY FELT POINSETTIAS
For my money, the best kind of plant is one I can’t kill. This Christmas craft by TheHandmadeFlorist is nice because it encompasses the holiday season without being overly specific about it. I could keep these out for Valentine’s Day, right? I think so!
6. “MOUNTAIN TOQUE” FAIR ISLE KNITTED HAT PATTERN
Knitted hats are kind of my jam, and while I like to create my own patterns, I fell in love and bought this one by LambandCoDesigns as soon as I saw it. It’s so cozy and makes me long for a nice blizzard season (I can’t help it–I’m from the Midwest). Check out the reviews to see the color combos other knitters have used!
7. VINTAGE CERAMIC CHRISTMAS TREE
I’ve been looking for kid-friendly Christmas crafts and this project by CreativityHappiness is so nostalgic for me. Any 70’s or 80’s kid remembers these chunky Christmas tree lights, and I love that my three-year-old can help me put this one together.
8. “PER MY LAST EMAIL” CROSS STITCH PATTERN
9. CHRISTMAS GARLAND KIT
If you have a table-top tree, this garland kit by BenzieDesign is long enough to add some color. I also love it because a kiddo can help string the felted balls with little direction (high-five, fellow Moms!)
10. A CHRISTMAS STORY CROSS STITCH PATTERN
Here’s my latest creation for the MetroCozy shop, and to know me, you have to know how important A Christmas Story is to the fabric of my holiday experience. It’s beyond hilarious, and I knew I wanted to make something in homage this year, especially since Mister is getting into Christmas movies and will remember it. And, it’s a leg lamp. Need I say more?
